LA GRANGE PARK — The Nazareth Academy Boys Varsity Basketball team went on the road this weekend and came out with two victories. Friday, they defeated Joliet Catholic Academy by a score of 48-41. Tyler Jackson led the way with 13 points and 10 rebounds. John Bonk added 11 points five assists and four rebounds. Alex Edwards added nine points, five rebounds and four steals.
Saturday, Nazareth turned on the defensive heat and defeated Gordon Tech by a score of 48-32. Tyler Jackson finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. John Bonk added 11 points, Tim Kuckailis hauled down seven rebounds, and Alex Edwards had four steals.
The Roadrunners now have a record of 6-1 as they prepare this week for their biggest challenge of the year when Marian Catholic comes to Nazareth this Friday. The highly ranked Spartans are led by All-State Point Guard Tyler Uliss. Make plans to be a part of the Freddie Fanatics on Friday.
The Varsity Hockey team came up short yesterday losing 3-2 to Plainfield High School while the JV team was victorious with a 6-1 win over Lincolnway.
