BROOKFIELD — Come for the 3rd annual Greater La Grange Reindeer Run this Saturday at the Brookfield Zoo and turn it into a holiday outing when you stay for the animals. The zoo will be decorated in its holiday finest and some of the runners will be in Christmas costumes as well so get there early. The race starts near the North Gate at 8:30 a.m. and the Kids Dash will follow at 9:30.
Aly Bockler, one of the co-hosts of “You & Me This Morning” on WCIU will be among the Chicago area celebrities competing in the Reindeer Run and Lods Dash. State Rep. Mike Zalewski also will be a featured runner. The event will be hosted Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Brookfield Zoo. The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. near the North Gate of the zoo. The Kids Dash starts at 9:30.
Although participants will run throughout the zoo during the race, they will receive a better view of all the zoo has to offer after the race. The $30 entrance fee includes registration to the 5K, a T-shirt and day’s admission into the world-renown zoo. Admission to the Kids Dash is $15. Registration the day of the race will cost $40 for the 5K.

Proceeds from the race will support the Greater LaGrange YMCA, an active and important not-for-profit organization in the La Grange community.
